Zero adoption fee at Jackson County Animal Shelter

If you are looking for a furry friend right now is the perfect time to adopt a cat or a dog.

The Jackson County Animal Shelter is currently undergoing construction to upgrade their facilities. Even though in the end the project will be worth it, during the work the shelter will be down around 18 kennels.

Adoption Coordinator Maridee Mallette tells News 25 they have decided to waive all adoption fees for the rest of the week since the shelter is already full and in desperate need of people to come and take the four-legged friends home. “Well, we are trying to push the zero adoption fee which includes their spay and neuter and rabies shots and everything. You are still getting all that for free right now and the only reason we are able to do that is because of all the volunteers donating money and the volunteers raising money for the shelter. If you are not able to adopt you can donate and make monetary donations.”
