Youngsters Tryout for Snow Queen Musical at Lynn Meadows
They were auditioning for the Wings program’s Snow Queen musical to be performed in March. Wings adapted the original Hans Christian Andersen classic into a musical for children. For those who don’t know the Andersen tale, Disney’s Frozen was loosely based on the story and has become a favorite for young kids.
Emily Edwards, Student Assistant Director, says, “This will be my first time directing with younger kids. I have directed my own original one act at Gulfport Little Theater and Biloxi Little Theater, and I stage managed for A Year with Frog and Toad with middle schoolers, but this will be my first time working with elementary kids.”
Jessie Zaffron, who auditioned for Snow Queen, says, “I’ve been in Bahumbug. I was in Shrek. I was in this mini show called Dreams. Last year, I was in a group show called the Clowns. Well, I just think it’s a great way to experience theater and stuff.”
After Wings selects the cast from the auditions, they will rehearse and start performances March 24th.
