YMCA partners with Shuckers to host MLB Pitch, Hit, and Run at MGM Park

MGM Park was filled with young baseball talent in celebration of Play Ball Weekend.

The YMCA, in partnership with the Biloxi Shuckers, came together to host an MLB Pitch, Hit, and Run competition for local youth.

Those competing tested their skills in hitting distance, pitching accuracy, and running the bases.

Each athlete was given a scorecard as they traveled between stations keeping record of their stats.

Devin Matthews of the YMCA says more than 150 kids participated in the event. “When you go back and you look at the list of current and former MLB players who have participated in this event, there’s a lot. So, get your kids a new experience, bring them out, and just have fun.”

The top performers from this weekend will move on to the team championship in the fall.
