WXXV’S Marco Bitonel LIVE on Halloween safety tips
WXXV News 25’s Marco Bitonel was live in Harrison County to give South Mississippi tips for trick or treaters to stay safe this Halloween.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s gave Marco several tips on what you can do to keep everyone safe on one of the busiest nights of the year.
The first recommendation is to wear bright colored clothes if possible, and bring glow bands and flashlights to keep yourself lit in dark areas. Try to stay along paths that are well lit by street lights and houses.
If you are going to be with your trick or treater be familiar with the area and route you will be taking, and be aware of how long you want to stay out. If you will not be with your trick or treater, make sure they keep you updated with their location and whereabouts throughout the night.
Streets will be busy on Halloween night, so make sure your trick or treater knows to look both ways before crossing the street. If you happen to be driving, make sure to drive slowly and be aware of your surroundings.
Marco also had the chance to talk to some parents and even some trick or treaters themselves on what they’re doing to stay safe this Halloween.
