WXXV host third annual Viewer’s Choice Awards

On Tuesday evening the Ground Zero Blues Club was transformed into the hosting grounds for the 2024 WXXV Viewer’s Choice Awards.

Hundreds packed in for a night dedicated to celebrating the coast’s best businesses and organizations, all voted by you, South Mississippi viewers. The event was hosted by WXXV’s own sports director, Jevan McCoskey and event coordinator, Lindsey Magee.

This year had over 187 categories, from best jewelry store to best po’ boy sandwich and everything in between. There was a staggering 164,000 votes from over 18,000 people. Spirits were high as attendees were treated to live music and a night of food and drinks.

Rob Stinson, a local business owner along the coast, spoke on the atmosphere for Tuesday night’s awards.

“This is unbelievably nice and it really is. What a great environment, great entertainment, and you couldn’t have a better location. Seriously, this is beautiful.”

Brandon Hoda, owner of Xtreme Roofing and a nominee for the Viewer’s Choice Awards, also expressed his excitement over South Mississippi coming together to recognize success across the coast.

“It’s great. Having all these people out here, all the managers, the owners. Seeing all the different services and everything from everybody, its an amazing little event.”
