WXXV celebrates community-chosen Viewers Choice Awards at gala
You all voted and the results are in.
WXXV’s Viewers Choice Awards Gala was a success last night, honoring all of the Gulf Coast businesses and individuals who were nominated.
This year, our viewers voted on their favorite mainstays in the community — from the best restaurants, seafood and bars to the best electricians, plumbers and everything in between.
Last night at the Great Southern Club, we presented awards to the top choices in each category.
This marks the second year of the WXXV Viewers Choice franchise and the first in-person ceremony. Last year was an on-line presentation.
Chief meterologist Rob Knight served as host of the event and reflected on how WXXV has grown and changed with its community of viewers.
“You know, with our viewers, we work hand in hand with them,” Knight said. “Of course, they advertise with us, and we’ve grown quite a bit in the last 10 years or so.
“And we love that feeling. We love that feeling of camaraderie. We like that feeling of knowing that we’re here for the community. But even better, we love the fact that the community also recognizes and knows that we’re here for them as well. It’s not just a one-way street. We work hand-in-hand as we proceed forward.”
Tune in for the WXXV Viewer’s Choice Awards Special on Sunday, November 12th at 10:30pm on WXXV NBC 25.
