WXXV Announces Promotion of Casey Ducre to News Director
WXXV is proud to announce the promotion of Casey Ducre to News Director, recognizing her years of leadership, dedication, and impact on the station’s newsroom and production operations.
A Louisiana native, Casey graduated from University of New Orleans with a Bachelor’s degree in Film. Before joining WXXV, she gained valuable industry experience working as an audience production assistant for the “The Talk” during Super Bowl week coverage and as an editing intern for the motion picture “Killing Them Softly.”
Casey began her career at WXXV in 2015 as a production assistant at the launch of the station’s first morning newscast. Her talent and leadership quickly earned her a promotion to director in 2016. Four years later, she transitioned into the role of Production Supervisor, where she played a critical role in expanding the station’s news programming, including the growth of morning, noon, Sunday, and evening newscasts.
Throughout her time at WXXV, Casey has become known for her dedication to teamwork, operational excellence, and commitment to producing high-quality local news.
“Casey’s growth within WXXV has been incredible to watch,” said Oley Yager, General Manager of WXXV. “She has been instrumental in the evolution and expansion of our news operation over the years. Casey leads with professionalism, creativity, and a true passion for local television news. We are excited to see her step into the role of News Director and continue shaping the future of our newsroom.”

Outside the newsroom, Casey enjoys watching horror movies, eating delicious Creole seafood, and spending time with her family.
