Wreck on Highway 49 blocks northbound lane

The Gulfport Police Department is currently working a wreck on Highway 49 and 30th Street.

The northbound lanes of Highway 49 are blocked from 32nd Street to 29th Street.

Drivers are asked to find an alternate route.

Gulfport Police Department spokesman Jason Ducre says multiple people were injured and brought to the hospital.

The blockage is expected to be cleared up by 7.
