Wreck near Poplarville Exit on I-59 results in death

A wreck in Pearl River County leaves one person dead this afternoon.

That’s according to MHP Troop K spokesman Landon Orozco, no other injuries have been reported at this time.

Mississippi Highway Patrol is on the scene of a two-vehicle accident near the Poplarville exit on I-59 south.

The incident involved an 18-wheeler and another car.

Southbound lanes are currently blocked intermittently as emergency crews work the scene.
