Wreck leads to discovery of flipped truck near exit 28
A wreck this morning near the County Farm Road exit caused traffic to slow down.
That’s when drivers noticed a truck flipped upside down in the embankment that apparently had been there for hours.
When first responders arrived on scene, the driver was still conscious, he was air lifted to University Medical Center New Orleans.
According to MHP, the accident happened after the truck was traveling westbound when it swerved off the road, breaking through the cable barrier, sliding into the embankment near the Wolf River.
Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating.
The roadway has since been cleared and both lanes are now open.
