Wreath laying honors Vietnam veterans
A crowd gathered at the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Ocean Springs Wednesday to honor those who have helped maintain our freedoms.
The president of the American Legion Auxiliary laid down a wreath for those who lost their lives in the Vietnam War.
Several chapters of the American Legion Auxiliary were represented at the event, as President Lisa Williamson continues her tour of South Mississippi.
“Service members, I mean in this case they gave all. So all gave some and some gave all. And obviously these ones gave off. And I think too that a lot of people don’t think about it,” said Williamson. “I mean, they kind of know that when they signed on that dotted line that they were at risk. So the American Legion Auxiliary helps support our family. So it’s about serving our military, our veterans and their family.”
