Work to begin on new beer garden north of Harbor View Café in Long Beach

Former Mayor and owner of Harbor View Café Robert Bass is getting ready to break ground on a new and exciting project in Long Beach.

Bass is building a beer garden, located on the property just north of his café.

He’s owned the property for a while, but was not sure what to do with it until a friend brought up the idea of a beer garden.

The site will be home to a relaxing environment filled with games, bonfires, bars, TVs, and so much more.

Bass says he hopes to have the garden open and operating by next year’s Jeepin’ the Coast. “We’re excited because so many people have come to talk to us and are really ready to see the ground being broken and something new coming up. This will be an opportunity for the City of Long Beach to have one more reason to come on in and spend some time in the community, and that’s a good thing for building an economic base here as well.”

Bass says he also leases the land across the street from the café and hopes to turn that into more exciting businesses for the community in the future.
