Work set to begin on I-110 repairs late next month

New details are being released on the status of the portion of the I-110 overpass damaged by a trailer fire a week ago.

MDOT District Engineer Kelly Castleberry tells us there have been two inspections by MDOT and a third party over the week.

Now, a repair recommendation will be made this Friday and after a 10-day waiting period, contractors will be able to bid for the emergency repair work.

Castleberry also tell us this work will not begin until the end of October, meaning that until then, southbound interstate traffic will be diverted off at Bayview Avenue.
