Work on A.J. Holloway Sports Complex near completion

Improvements to one Biloxi sports complex are coming along nicely. Work at the AJ Holloway Sports Complex is nearing completion.

The Biloxi Parks and Recreation Department is hoping to reopen the complex sometime this fall.

“Construction has been going on for about a year now. We actually have four separate complexes at the A.J., we have the softball side, the little league, the football and soccer, and the tennis,” Jamie Lee, the assistant director at Biloxi’s Park and Recreation, said “We’re able to offer a wide range of sports and activities here. It’s come along very well, I’d say we’re 60-65% completed. Most of the lights have been retrofitted with the new LED lights, there still one more pole that needs to be done. Once we’re complete with that, there’s going to be three additional poles installed.”

The tennis courts will be used by the Biloxi High School’s tennis team when the park is finished.
