Work begins to treat local roads
We know many of you are frozen in today as a result of some still hazardous road conditions so we’ve been working today to get you answers.
As temperatures rise this afternoon, a coordination of city, county, and state road crews are out and about.
MDOT is responsible for salting bridges on state highways and interstates.
In other cities, we know local crews in Wiggins are working alongside MDOT crews to get city roads and highways in working order.
The City of Gulfport’s local crews are working on treating local roads in neighborhoods across the city.
In Biloxi, local public works crews are working alongside county crews and MDOT crews to clear roads in the hours to come.
The word from all the agencies we’ve talked to still encourage only emergency travel at this hour. This gives crews the time and space to properly treat roads.
