Work begins on pedestrian walkway along Highway 49 in Gulfport
MDOT has begun work on a pedestrian walkway in Gulfport.
The walkway will run along Highway 49 from Turkey Creek to just north of Creosote Road.
Crews from Necaise Construction are working on drainage right now at about Lafayette Street and Highway 49 on the east side of the highway.
The $14.5 million project is scheduled to be finished in 2026.
