Work begins on new emergency operations center headquarters in Jackson County

Work begins on the new emergency operations center in Jackson County.

The facility is going to be located next to the north entrance of the Sunplex Industrial Complex off Highway 57.

Not only will it house the county’s emergency management employees, it will also be the new administrative home of Jackson County Fire Protection.

County leaders say this new facility will help the county better manage large-scale emergency and service as a central hub for different agencies during major events.

No word yet on the timeline for this facility’s completion.
