Work begins on making a deadly intersection in D’Iberville safer

Construction is underway on making a deadly D’Iberville intersection safer.
Workers are turning where state route 15 north and Lamey Bridge Road meet into a roundabout. The left turn lane to Lamey Bridge Road is now closed to motorists traveling north on 15.
Officials with the Mississippi Department of Transportation tell News 25 drivers need to be on high alert for workers on the side of the road as the project moves forward. John Lee is working on the project. He said, “In the past, they’ve had numerous fatalities at this intersection. That’s the main reason this is going in. I know a lot of people in this area are new to roundabouts so until they get used to it, just pay close attention to the signage. Everything in here will be a right turn.”
Workers say they hope to have the new roundabout installed by Christmas.
