Women’s Resource Center hosts open house for classes
The Women’s Resource Center in Gulfport is holding an open house for the community to speak to and learn more about the organization.
Through the parenting program, parents will learn tips to ensure a healthy pregnancy and important parenting skills.
There are many resources at the Women’s Resource Center as well as the empowered parenting program.
All resources go towards parental needs and skills while caring for physical and emotional needs.
These programs are free and participating parents will earn points to use in the baby boutique where they may redeem them for items.
“We have about eight or nine classes every single week, and they are broken out into prenatal, parenting, and we also have Spanish classes on Wednesday,” said Susan Jones, the Executive Director of the Women’s Resource Center. “And they learn very practical skills on how to parent their children. Whether it’s talking about childhood illnesses, car seat safety, safe sleep habits, we have people come in to talk to them about budgeting. We just do very practical things for parents — to help prepare them, and really empower them.”
