Women of Wisdom thanking first responders on anniversary of 9/11

Women of Wisdom, a nonprofit marketplace ministry, is busy packing 2,000 goodie bags for first responders in honor of the upcoming 9/11 anniversary.

Students in schools across the lower three counties decorated personalized thank you cards for first responders.

Today and tomorrow, WOW volunteers are putting those cards and other special offers from local businesses in these goodie bags.

On Friday, they will serve lunch and deliver the goodie bags to more than 80 police and fire stations in 14 cities across the Coast. Bridget Turan with WOW said, “I feel far too often, first responders go unnoticed and they don’t get the appreciation they deserve. This was just my way of giving back. I started this event four years ago. I just wanted to give back to those who are on the front lines supporting us each and every day. They don’t always get the recognition that they deserve.”

This year marks the 21st anniversary of the September 11th attacks which killed nearly 3,000 people.
