Woman Rescued in Gulf Avenue Fire

There was a fire on Gulf Avenue in Gulfport this afternoon. The call came in at 3:30. The house, two vehicles and the carport were all on fire. Ammunition was also going off inside the house due to the fire.
Inside, a woman was trapped. Gulfport fire fighters entered the house and rescued the woman along with her dog. The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Gulfport Fire Chief Mike Beyerstedt tells News 25 he is extremely proud of his men.
