Woman reported missing arrested on warrant from Oklahoma

A woman visiting Coast casinos with her mother has been charged with assault on a detention officer.

Biloxi Police say 23-year-old Shalai Shelton was on the Coast visiting casinos with her mother when the two got separated. Shelton’s mother could not locate her daughter, so she contacted Biloxi Police for help.

Officers were able to locate Shelton and when they did, ran a background check, finding an outstanding warrant for assault and battery on a detention officer out of Payne County, Oklahoma.

Shelton was arrested on the charge and was taken to the Harrison County jail, where she is being held for Oklahoma authorities.
