Woman Killed in Jackson County Today

The Mississippi Highway Patrol investigated a two-vehicle crash in Jackson County that occurred on Highway 613, near Fire House Road, at approximately 7:35 a.m.
Upon arriving it appeared Samuel Martin, 70, of Moss Point, MS, was traveling south bound in a 1995 GMC 3500 when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a silver 2014 Chevrolet Sport that was north bound, forcing the Chevrolet off of the roadway where it rolled over. The Chevrolet was driven by Katie D. Vaughan, 25, of Moss Point, MS.
Vaughan was transported by ambulance to Singing River Hospital where she died from injuries sustained in the crash. Martin was not injured.
