Woman Killed In Gulfport Today

On August 16, 2016 at approximately 5:47 a.m., the Gulfport Police Department responded to the 12300 block of Three Rivers Road in reference to a motor vehicle crash with injuries involving a pedestrian.
The on scene investigation revealed that a Nissan Versa was northbound on Three Rivers Road near Windsong Drive when it struck a pedestrian walking on the edge of the roadway. Gulfport Fire and American Medical Response personnel were dispatched to the scene. The adult female pedestrian was transported to an area hospital for treatment of severe injuries. The Gulfport Police Department was later advised that the victim died as a result of her injuries. The driver of the Nissan was not injured during the crash.
