Woman found in ditch in Gulfport
The Harrison County Coroner’s office is trying to identify a woman found dead in a ditch in Gulfport overnight.
Deputy Coroner Whitney Valles said she was called about 1:30 a.m. after a neighbor in the 1500 block of Madison Street came across the woman lying in a shallow ditch in front of an empty lot.
The victim, an adult black female, was found a few hours after her death, Valles said. the victim has not yet been identified.
No foul play is suspected, but an autopsy is being conducted.
