Woman dies after medical issue at Harrison County Jail

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. — A woman being held at the Harrison County Jail died this past Friday.

According to Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer, the woman has been identified as Sierra Case. Officials with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office said Case was in the booking area when she began experiencing a medical emergency.

She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died Friday night.

An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted Tuesday to determine the cause of death. Authorities say additional testing, including toxicology, may be required depending on the initial findings.
