Woman charged with embezzlement

A Biloxi woman is behind bars for allegedly embezzling thousands of dollars from a landscaping company.
Sheriff Troy Peterson says 52-year-old Candace Webb was employed by Groundscape Incorporated in Biloxi and handled all financial transitions for the business. Sheriff Peterson says the owner became suspicious after noticing several checks Webb had written to herself and confronted her. Webb then resigned and Sheriff Peterson says it appears over $9,000 was taken over an 18 month period.
Webb’s bond is set at $10,000.
