Witnesses take the stand in Trevues Martin case

There are new details in the murder trial of DeAndre Ball, the Biloxi man suspected of shooting and killing Trevues Martin on the eve of his 21st birthday.

Testimony from Martin’s grandmother revealed he was selling marijuana from his car in the driveway when he was shot dead with his girlfriend beside him.

Gulfport police arrested and charged 22-year-old DeAndre Ball who turned himself in following the shooting death of Martin.

In 2017, Gulfport police arrested Kalisha Crockett in connection with the case. She was charged with accessory after the fact. Crockett entered her plea of guilty to the charge of hindering prosecution of a felon.

Ball’s attorney, Michael Hester, says the District Attorney’s Office is relying on circumstantial evidence for a murder conviction.

Prosecutors have 16 more witnesses on their list although it is not known how many will testify and then the defense will present its case.
