With a 52 million dollar bond referendum on the ballot, OSSD Superintendent speaks on the major changes that could come to the school district

Voting is set to begin on Tuesday at 7:00 Am for a 52 million dollar bond referendum which could potentially bring major changes to the Ocean Springs School District.

OSSD Superintendent  Mike Lindsey and Director of Communications Trey Brennan joined WXXV to discuss what the proposal entails and what the future would like if the bond is passed.

According to the Ocean Springs School District website, the bond will be used to:

  • Restructure elementary schools to K-4.
  • Construction of a state-of-the-art middle school on our current upper elementary campus.
  • Make critical infrastructure upgrades to all three elementary schools and the current middle school campus.
  • Renovate the current middle school campus to convert it into a 5th and 6th grade school.

The school district claims the new bond will come at no cost to tax payers within the Ocean Springs School District.
