Winners announced for annual Billfish Classic in Biloxi

The Billfish Classic festivities wrapped up Sunday with its awards banquet at the Golden Nugget.

The tournament awarded over $1.4 million in awards with the top team taking home nearly $350,000 in cash prizes.

Team One More out of Pensacola secured the win by catching a 670-pound, 120-inch blue marlin. Team One More Angler Tyler Massey said, “We’re fishing for big fish. So, we were prepared for it, but the fish ended up dying during the fight. So, about an hour into the fight, the fish died, sunk down, and took us over eight hours to get it back to the boat. So, it was definitely a very big challenge. It was beautiful weather. Right off the bat, a little stormy, but it was an awesome weekend for sure.”
