William Carey University launches teacher assistant program

William Carey University is launching a program for teacher assistants this summer.

This comes through a $300,000 grant from the Robert M. Hearin Foundation.

Teacher assistants will be able to earn their Bachelor’s Degree and become fully accredited classroom teachers.

The program includes tuition assistance, flexible coursework, and mentoring.

This also comes at an important time as there are more than 3,000 teacher vacancies in the state.
