William Carey hosting STEAM Empowerment Conference
William Carey is hosting a STEAM Empowerment Conference at their Tradition Campus from 9 to 3.
The Empowerment Conference brings middle school girls from all corners of the state to spark enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
The day-long event gives girls a chance to engage in hands-on activities while also giving them a chance to learn from inspiring stories of successful women in the STEAM field.
Activities include:
- Hear from over a dozen successful women representing a broad spectrum of careers in STEAM throughout the state of Mississippi in panel discussions
- Fly indoor drones with the Pine Belt Robotics Academy
- Explore strategies in mitigating an oil spill through an activity with GenSea
- Put their academic knowledge to the test with Trafera’s Lu Interactive Playground
- Interact with an award-winning robotics team from Gulfport High School and their robot
