William Carey brings home double SSAC tournament titles in the form of both baseball and softball programs

Both William Carey University’s baseball and softball teams were quite busy on the diamond Saturday.

The Carey baseball team claimed their third SSAC tournament title with a 15-4 run rule victory over Blue Mountain Christian. At one point the Crusaders were down 3-4, but Vancleave’s very own Bailee Hendon helped the offense come alive in the fifth inning scoring the tying and go ahead run with an RBI single.

They weren’t the only Crusaders holding up a banner either! The William Carey Softball team faced Middle Georgia State with the SSAC Title also on the line. The Lady Crusaders used a five run fifth inning to capture their fourth SSAC tournament title with 7 to 3 victory!

What a weekend for the red and black. Congratulations to both Crusader programs!
