Wiggins firefighters take part in training

The Wiggins Fire Department took time last week to conduct boat and water rescue training.

Teams took to the Flint Creek Reservoir, sharpening their skills.

During the training, firefighters practiced safely backing trailers down boat ramps, maneuvering boats in water and techniques for approaching and rescuing a victim from water.

The department says that with warmer weather approaching, this type of training helps ensure firefighters stay prepared and ready to respond to any emergency.
