Wiggins Elected First Woman President of Harrison Co. School Board

In a unanimous vote by the members of the Harrison County School Board, Rena Wiggins, Board Member District One, made history by being the first woman elected to serve as President of the Board, the board has been in existence since 1957.

Wiggins has served as District One School Board Member for four years. She is an 18 year veteran in law enforcement, with the majority having been served as a school resource officer in the Harrison County School District.

Wiggins is also a member of East Biloxi Boys and Girls Club, Biloxi Rotary, MS Law Enforcement Officers Association, the Woolmarket Football Board, and a 2013 Graduate of Leadership Gulf Coast.

In a statement from Wiggins, she says, “I have always enjoyed serving my community. My time as a school board member has been an amazing experience. I am humbled by the confidence my fellow board members have in my ability to lead and I will continue to do the best job on behalf of the citizens of Harrison County."

Wiggins is married to Alan Wiggins and they have two children, daughter, Keely, 12, and son, Austin, 10. Her family is very proud of all her accomplishments.
