Wiener Wonderland lights display is bigger and better than ever

Who needs a winter wonderland when you can have a wiener wonderland?

Back for the sixth year, South Mississippi’s iconic Wiener Wonderland light display on Karli Lane in Woolmarket now features nearly 60 dachshunds.

Shelby Pierce, the creator of the festive display, started with just ten light-up dogs back in 2015 and has added to it every Christmas since. It takes Pierce three weeks to set up the entire display.

Some of the newest additions includes a Cousin Eddie Dachshund and a dachshund roasting some weenies.

Over the years, Pierce’s decorations have caught a lot of attention all over the country. “If I’m going to be newsworthy and get this attention, I need to do something with it. And that’s when I got to thinking about Tired Dog Rescue, which is our local rescue here. We don’t have a dachshund rescue, so they’re the closest thing we have and they do rescue dachshunds.”

To donate to Tired Dog Rescue, visit thetireddogrescue.com or the Wiener Wonderland Facebook page.

Check out the Christmas display for yourself from now until January 1st.
