Wicker’s Eureka Plan Becomes Law

U.S. Senator Roger Wicker’s proposal to create a more competitive fight against Alzheimer’s disease is now a law.
Today, President Obama signed the Eureka Bill, which is part of the 21st Century Cures Act, into law. The Eureka Plan won’t replace funding or research initiatives for Alzheimer’s, but add another avenue for breakthroughs. The law would give prizes when a team of researchers achieve milestones.
Wicker hopes President-Elect Donald Trump will keep Dr. Francis Collins on as director of the National Institutes of Health because Wicker says Collins helped worked on the law and should help implement it.
