Wicker Calls on a Response from VA
United States Senator Roger Wicker calls for a response from the Veteran Affairs Office after the release of what he calls “troubling reports.”
According to Wicker, new allegations show that only one to six people who were responsible for manipulating waiting list data have been fired in the past two years.
Wicker wrote a letter to VA Secretary Robert McDonald saying: “The office continues to play musical chairs with employees who orchestrated elaborate schemes that denied veterans access to timely care.”
“We’re calling on the secretary to make sure that people who have given false information to the congress, false information to the public are actually made to face the consequences of that false information,” said Wicker.
Wicker believes veterans and taxpayers deserve to know why the V.A. has been so slow to remove these individuals. He claims the agency has had plenty of time to institute the reforms passed by congress and signed into law nearly two years ago.
