Pass Christian firefighters had an unusual task come up Wednesday night as winds from Francine battered the Coast.

An errant alligator was found on Camellia Drive about 9:15 p.m. after a resident called saying her dog was barking at something outside.

Two Pass firefighters went out and found a 4-foot alligator in the middle of the road.

They captured the baby and took him to a nearby bayou, where he was released.

Pass Christian Fire posted a picture of the swamp puppy with the comment, “Add gator wrangling and relocation to your Francine bingo card.”
