Where to set off Fireworks in Harrison County
Fireworks and New Year’s Eve seem to go hand-in-hand. If you are planning on setting sparklers off yourself, do you know what areas in Harrison County are legal to do so?
Harrison County Fire Chief Pat Sullivan tells News 25 that residents of legal age can set off fireworks outside of city limits. Typically fire officials urge people to stay away from large fields with debris but because of the excessive amount of rain they are not expecting any problems. Their general advice for fireworks near private property is to use common sense and courtesy. “We get complaints every year of people firing fireworks at 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning. Other people are trying to sleep and that can cause some problems with your neighbors. Just use common sense and common courtesy,” said Sullivan.
