What to expect when attending a show at Gautier’s The Sound amphitheater
The City of Gautier broke ground on the Sound Amphitheater over a year ago, and it is finally ready to welcome hundreds of fans for its first concert this Friday.
Here’s what attendees can expect when attending a concert at The Sound.
The Sound can accommodate 7,000 seated and 11,000 standing. You’ll be seated in your corresponding section according to your tickets. If you’re on the lawn, chairs are prohibited, so bring a blanket.
There will be food and drink vendors once you get inside, but no food or drink is allowed from outside.
Like any amphitheater, weather is a huge factor. The Sound was designed to drain rain off the grass, but that doesn’t mean severe storms can’t stop a show.
The Sound and the City of Gautier are thrilled to finally be showing guests, and locals, what they have accomplished.
Gautier Mayor Casey Vaughan said, “Citizens are feeling great. The guests that are coming, the economic development boom that just the announcements of the entertainers that are coming here has increased tremendously. So, this is not only about giving our citizens of Gautier an entertainment venue but to welcome people to Gautier and Jackson County and Coastal Mississippi. It’s a big tourist attraction for the whole state of Mississippi.”
