Westminster Presbyterian Encourages Members to Work in Community

Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gulfport is encouraging its members to apply their faith in the community. On Wednesday nights, the congregation members gather to learn about different ministry opportunities on the Coast.

On October 1st, a representative from the Gulf Coast Rescue Mission spoke about its work with local homeless people struggling with addiction. Westminster Presbyterian wants to connect more of its members to people in need around the Coast.

Pastor Will Shurley of Westminster Presbyterian Church says, “What we’re looking to do is to help people think critically about their faith, particularly about how they apply it as they go about life and the Gulf Coast. It’s a chance for us to expand upon what we do on Sunday mornings. We hear about the gospel on Sunday morning, and on Wednesday night, we’re thinking about how to apply it.”

The Wednesday night meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. and newcomers are encouraged to attend.
