West Harrison’s Stevie Kerns signs with Holmes Community College

At West Harrison, senior soccer standout Stevie Kerns puts pen to paper with Holmes Community College where she’ll continue to play center midfielder at the next level.

Kerns had a great start to her junior season — scoring six goals and assisting on nine more — but wasn’t able to finish it out due to a torn quad muscle.

After a ten-week recovery process, Kerns attended an ID camp in Ridgeland and found a new home at Holmes

“My sophomore year, if you would’ve told me I was going to Holmes, I would’ve laughed at you because I didn’t think I was going to go anywhere. I’m very proud of myself because I pushed through a lot to be able to be here,” Kerns said. “I’ve done all the private lessons you can do. I’ve been with Gulf Coast United since I was five. I’ve been through the academy. I’ve constantly pushed myself to be here, and I work hard on and off the field.”

Kerns says she’s been playing soccer since she was three years old and now has two more years with the 2022 MACC champions.
