West Harrison JROTC honors veterans

JROTC cadets at West Harrison High School performed an annual Veteran’s Day ceremony Wednesday.

News 25 spoke to three bright young students who have been promoted for leadership in the school’s junior military training program.

Each of them had a special function in the ceremony, from teaching the history of Veteran’s Day to blessing the ceremony with prayer, and more.

The celebration was filled with song, performance, and tradition, but turned somber at the end. The empty chair and table on the stage served as a constant reminder to the sacrifices of fallen and missing veterans.
