HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV) — The West Harrison Hurricanes battled back from an early deficit to secure a 20-12 victory over the Harrison Central Rebels on Friday night.
Trailing early in the contest, the Hurricanes caught a break when Harrison Central fumbled the snap on a fourth-down fake punt attempt, giving West Harrison possession with excellent field position.
The Hurricanes quickly went to work on the ground. Running back Julian Chong picked up six yards on first down before taking another handoff on the following play. Chong absorbed a hard tackle and was slow to get up but managed to make his way off the field.

Harrison Central responded on the extra-point attempt, breaking through the line to disrupt the kick and keep the score tied at 6-6.
West Harrison then caught the Rebels off guard with a perfectly placed onside kick. Dean Hunter was in position to recover the football, giving the Hurricanes another opportunity to capitalize on the momentum.
Despite the successful recovery, West Harrison was unable to put additional points on the board before the clock expired.
The Hurricanes continued battling and eventually pulled away to secure the 20-12 victory over their Harrison County rivals.
