West Harrison High Students Share Experience Helping Tornado Victims

West Harrison High School students are back from their trip to help the tornado victims in Hattiesburg and Petal. They say it was a life changing experience.
West Harrison High students were able to deliver two busloads of donations for the tornado victims over the weekend. Donations filled the  school’s lobby before the trip, all part of the Help for Hattiesburg campaign.
The students toured through devastated areas in Petal and talked to people who were affected by the storm. Student Tabitha Bridges said, “Not only did it show us how devastating the forces of nature can be, but it also showed us that people actually can come together for a cause. We never expected so many donations to come in when they did. We were actually able to load an entire bus. We were afraid that we wouldn’t be able to transport ourselves up there along with the items, but to see everybody in school come together, I think that was life changing.”
Members of the Petal mayor’s office, teachers from Petal schools and the assistant superintendent helped the students unload the buses.
