West Harrison High student arrested for making a school threat
On Friday, April 27th, 2018, Sheriff Troy J. Peterson announced the arrest of a 14-year-old male student who attends West Harrison High School.
The juvenile male, whose name is being withheld, was arrested on warrants for disorderly conduct and interfering with a school session.
According to Sheriff Peterson, deputies were notified by school officials that the juvenile student had made threatening statements in reference to “shooting up the school” earlier in the week.
At 12:09 p.m. today, sheriff’s deputies took the juvenile into custody at his residence and he was immediately transported to the Harrison County Juvenile Detention Center.
The juvenile will appear before a juvenile court judge to answer for the charges. Sheriff Peterson stated that any threats such as these will be taken seriously and addressed with swift and appropriate measures.
