West Harrison falls to St. Martin 45-28

HARRISON COUNTY,

Miss (WXXV) – St. Martin found itself in a back-and-forth battle with West Harrison Friday night, but the Yellow Jackets ultimately pulled away for a 45-28 win.

Trailing late in the first half with the ball, St. Martin quarterback Dawson Sullivan decided to take matters into his own hands. Sullivan scrambled to the right and went airborne, drawing a 15-yard facemask penalty and putting the Yellow Jackets within striking distance.

On the very next play, Sullivan rolled to his right and found his twin brother, Dawsey Sullivan, wide open for a touchdown. The score tied the game at 21-21 heading into the final moments of the half.

But West Harrison still had time to respond.

Kaylon Costict handed the ball to Austin McInnis, who broke through the middle and nearly found the end zone. St. Martin’s defense chased him down from behind to prevent the touchdown before halftime.

On the next play, Costict rolled left and looked for Floyd McCray, who was wide open, but the pass fell incomplete.

With the clock winding down, Costict handed the ball to Julian Chong, who looked for running room to the right. Unable to find a lane, Chong cut back inside, where he was met by a swarm of Yellow Jackets as the half came to an end.

St. Martin carried that momentum into the second half and finished the night with a 45-28 victory over West Harrison.
