Welcome home Joe Moorhead: Mississippi State faithful embrace new hire

Mississippi State didn’t waste any time tracking down its next head football coach in the days following Dan Mullen’s departure on Sunday. Today, Joe Moorhead arrived in Starkville.
The former Penn State offensive coordinator is the man for the job, stepping in following Mullen’s nine-year stint at MSU. The Bulldog faithful couldn’t be happier to have him on board.
Moorhead just finished his second season with the Nittany Lions who ranked second in the Big Ten with more than 40 points per game in 2017.
Mullen is now the head coach of the Florida Gators while Moorhead is the 33rd head coach at Mississippi State.
One of Moorhead’s first orders of business as Mississippi State’s head man is getting on the line and locking down those recruits.
One of those is back at East Central in the form of 6’6 Tight End Brad Cumbest. Head Coach Seth Smith says Moorhead called Cumbest earlier today and that Cumbest is still a committed member of #STATETEAM18.
Earlier this season, Cumbest told News 25 he’s wanted to play for the Bulldogs his whole life.
