Weighing in on presidential visit to the Coast

A Biloxi restaurant is preparing for the morning after and setting the table for a visit from a correspondent with Fox and Friends national news morning team set for early Tuesday morning on the heels of President Trump’s visit and rally in South Mississippi.

On just about any given morning, you can find Leonard Bentz Sr. and his friends savoring good food and conversation at the Port City Café in Biloxi. Monday morning was no exception. On the menu of table talk this day: “Everything. You name it. We talk about it, particularly politics,” said Bentz Sr.

Bentz Sr. and his friends will show up a little earlier than usual Tuesday morning to get a slice of politics and share their mind with a national Fox and Friends morning news team correspondent at the Port City Café in Biloxi, just hours after President Trump’s Monday night rally at the Coast Coliseum. “I think it’s fabulous for the Coast in general and the Port City Cafe. They have a great business here. This would be good exposure for everything. We’re so glad to have them come down here and expose us to national news,” said Bentz Sr.

The Port City Café will open its doors to the public at 5 a.m. Tuesday morning. Port City Café owner Ernest Ulrich said, “They’ll be here from 5 a.m to 8 a.m. It will be open to the public. We encourage everybody to come and welcome the national FOX station to the Gulf Coast, and give them a reason to come back.”

Ulrich and his staff plan to serve up a heaping helping of well-known Southern hospitality and a taste of our area’s world famous dishes like shrimp and grits. “We thrive to have quality, fresh. We’re like a neighborhood restaurant. It’s like family coming to visit every day.”

Tuesday morning, the restaurant will add a new friend the Fox morning team’s national correspondent to that list.
